Mozart’s Don Giovanni launches our tour this evening. Franco Zeffirelli’s wonderful production has become one of the Metropolitan Opera’s most successful in recent years. Our cast this evening is truly stellar. Sylvain Cambreling conducts: Dmitri Hvorostovsky is the lascivious Don Giovanni, along side Barbara Frittoli, Carol Vaness, Rebecca Evans, Michael Schade, Denis Sedov, Natale de Carolis and Eric Halfvarson.

Saturday December 28th

This morning, we will enjoy an expert guided private tour of the Pierpont Morgan Library. One of New York’s hidden treasures, the Morgan Library is a museum that boasts one of the world’s most important collections of Medieval and Renaissance manuscripts, rare books and bindings, and master drawings rivaling any found in Europe. The collection is housed in J.P. Morgan’s landmark Renaissance-style palazzo building that he commissioned to hold his masterpieces.

Afternoon at leisure. We present the option this afternoon to attend the Metropolitan Opera for a performance of A View from the Bridge. Based on the play by Arthur Miller, this production comes to the Met following the critically acclaimed world premiere in Chicago. Dennis Russell Davies conducts: Catherine Malfitano, Isabel Bayrakdarian (Met Debut), Gregory Turay, Kim Josephson, Richard Bernstien and John del Carlo. This evening, we present the option to attend the New York City Ballet’s beloved production of The Nutcracker. This holiday classic to music by Tchaikovsky features choreography by NYCB founder George Balanchine, and is perhaps the most famous production of the Nutcracker in the world. Sunday December 29th


Morning at Leisure.

This afternoon, we present another optional performance. La Bohème has long been a treasure of opera houses around the world. Now Broadway has adopted the bohemians in a new production by the extraordinary film director Baz Luhrmann. After a world wide search for a young and dramatically compelling cast, the curtain is ready to go up on this new production, sung in Italian. If you love La Bohème, this heart breaking interpretation is sure to enlighten even the most experienced opera goer. (Supplemental ticket price $100 Prime Orchestra)

Monday December 30th

Today we invite you to explore some of New York’s extraordinary houses of worship as we embark on an expert guided tour that encompasses the diversity of what makes the Big Apple unique. We will visit a number of the city’s most important and unique religious sights, including the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, Central Synagogue, Riverside Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Temple Emanu-El, Trinity Church as well as unique Buddhist, Islamic, and Russian Orthodox sights. Our tour will take us throughout the city and will end in the mid-afternoon. Balance of the afternoon at leisure.

This evening, we return to the Met for a stunning example of 20th century musical drama - Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmelites. John Dexter’s haunting production catches the essence and emotional heart of this powerful work. James Conlon conducts: Patricia Racette, Christine Goerke, Heidi Grant Murphy, Stephanie Blythe, Felicity Palmer and Matthew Polenzani.

Tuesday December 31st

We begin the last day of the year by visiting the magnificent collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We will enjoy an expert guided private tour of the featured exhibition “The Legacy of Ghengis Khan” as well as a special exhibit of Impressionist works. Following our tour, you will have time to further explore areas of the museum that are of particular interest to you.

Afternoon at leisure.

There is no better way to ring in the new year than a performance of Die Fledermaus! The Metropolitan Opera’s beloved production will feature a bevy of famous surprise guest artists in Act II. Philippe Jordan conducts: Solveig Kringelborn, Rosemary Joshua, Jennifer Larmore, David Kuebler, Paul Charles Clarke, Peter Coleman-Wright, Thomas Hammons and Otto Schenk. Following the performance, we will enjoy a festive New Year’s eve dinner together with the cast at the Black Tie Gala Celebration on the Grand Tier of the Met.

Wednesday January 1st
