This evening, prepare to be mesmerized by the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Janacek’s haunting Jenufa, one of the most powerful and moving lyric dramas of the 20th century. Vladimir Jurowski conducts: Karita Mattila as Jenufa, with Rosalind Plowright (in her Met debut), Richard Berkley-Steele, and Adam Klein. Directed by Oliver Tambosi with sets and costumes by Frank Phillip Schlössmann.

Friday February 14th

This morning, we will enjoy a private guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s special exhibition, Treasures of Lost Art: Italian Manuscript Painting in the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Following our tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the museum’s stunning collection and additional special exhibitions including Leonardo da Vinci, Master Draftsman.

Afternoon at leisure.

This evening, Berlioz’s monumental Les Troyens takes to the Metropolitan Opera stage in a new production by Francesca Zambello with designs by Maria Bjornson. An extraordinary cast has been assembled to herald the return of Les Troyens to the Met stage. James Levine conducts: Deborah Voigt, Olga Borodina, Elena Zaremba, Ben Heppner, Dwayne Croft, and Robert Lloyd.

Saturday February 15th
This morning, take a fascinating look behind the scenes as we go backstage at the Metropolitan Opera House. From the dressing rooms of the stars and the stage, to the costume and wig shops, rehearsal studios and scene shop, you will get an intimate look at one of the world’s greatest opera houses.

Afternoon at Leisure.

Optional Performance this afternoon: Franco Zeffirelli’s production of Mozart’s beloved Don Giovanni. Sylvain Cambreling conducts: Jane Eaglen, Melanie Diener, Anna Netrebko, Rainer Trost, Peter Mattei, Ferruccio Furlanetto, Denis Sedov, and Eric Halfvarson. This evening, we return to the Met for one of Verdi’s most beautiful and imaginative works, Il Trovatore. Frédéric Chaslin conducts: Marina Mescheriakova, Irina Mishura, Franco Farina, Roberto Frontali, and Dmitri Kavrakos. Directed by Peter McClintock.

Sunday February 16th
